Why do these works need to be completed?
Lillie Road has not received investment for several years, and it is now time for money to be injected into the centre to improve its appearance, function and the range of facilities and equipment available for customers
What will the benefits be to customers once this has been completed?
Lillie Road Fitness Centre will look and feel much more modern and up to date. There will be a large range of brand new, hi-tech equipment available to customers, as well as a larger floor space for the gym areas. The reception will become streamlined and easy to use for customers self admit themselves to the gym, classes and crèche which will help you register as attended to all of your activities. We will have installed a new group cycle studio, which means there will be more classes, and an additional space to train when classes are not scheduled. The changing rooms will also be completely refurbished with free lockers (requiring you to bring your own padlock).
What is being done to minimise impact on customers?
The refurbishment is going to be completed in five stages so that there will always be ample gym space for people to train. There will be information and updates to help customers adjust to any temporary change. Signage will also be put up to help with changes in flow and locations.
Will the centre be closed?
No, we will not be closing the centre, we will be working on the refurbishment in stages, so that our customers are still able to train.
Will my membership let me use other centres?
Yes, we have taken steps to ensure that all Lillie road specific memberships can access the other two centres in Hammersmith and Fulham (Hammersmith Fitness and Squash, Phoenix Fitness Centre and Janet Adegoke Pools)
Will the crèche be running?
Unfortunately, we will not be running the Creche during August, because we will be using that space as a temporary gym space.
Will fitness classes be running?
We will be running a select number of out door classes throughout August every day. There will be fewer classes than normal, but we will ensure that there are some available to maintain service. You will also still be able to attend all the classes that are on at Hammersmith and Phoenix. Once the group cycle studio is in place, we will aim to bring about group cycle classes as soon as we can so as to keep service as high as possible.
How do I find out about updates and developments?
We are sending all members an email update to explain the refurbishments at the centre.
Please also check our website and social media feeds. We will be putting up news and updates on our news page on the Lillie Road Centre website, and on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Staff at the centre will also be able to assist you with information, and a refurbishment notice board will be installed at reception with information available.
