Swimming lessons for all ages at Highbury Leisure Centre
Highbury Leisure Centre has added new SWIMBIES lessons to their programme on Tuesdays 9am-11am (4 new classes which are 30 mins each). New classes start on 31st January. SWIMBiES are our swimming lessons for children ages 3 months to 4 year olds, providing a fun syllabus to help you and your child build water confidence that lasts a lifetime.
As a parent, grandparent or guardian, you can join your little one in the pool to share their first splashes. Our baby and infant swimming lessons are led by experienced and qualified teachers who are there to guide your little one every step of the way.
Our SWIMBiES swimming lessons have a strong emphasis on your child’s enjoyment, aiming to help you:
- Build water confidence for you and your baby
- Bond with your little one through exercise
- Develop your child’s coordination, muscle strength and motor skills
- Understand safety exercises to ensure both you and your baby are protected
- Try games and songs to help your child learn
Swimming is a great form of exercise, an important life skill and enjoyable at any age. It is never too late to learn to swim or improve your technique. That is why Highbury Leisure Centre and Ironmonger Row Baths are offering free swimming lessons for people aged 60 and over. Lessons are delivered by qualified teachers and run in partnership with Islington Council.
