Kensington Leisure Centre Joins the UK’s Biggest Fitness Celebration
Kensington Leisure helped people be active but joining thousands across the UK on Wednesday 24th September 2025 to celebrate National Fitness Day, the country’s biggest celebration of physical activity. Organised by UKActive, the annual event aims to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to get moving and connect through fitness.
This year’s theme, “Powered by You!”, shines a spotlight on the power individuals have to make small, lasting changes toward a healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s trying a new activity, joining a class, or simply moving more, National Fitness Day is the perfect opportunity to take that first step towards better wellbeing.
GLL, the charitable social enterprise behind Better leisure centres, is proud to support the event and offered free access to selected activities at Kensington Leisure Centre.
Activities on offer on the day include a Group Cycle thirty minute class, aimed at providing the perfect introduction to Group Cycling. This proved popular with a mixture of members and non members taking part.
During the afternoon there was the chance for non-members to book into a Gym Taster Session, Fitness Instructors were on hand to provide guidness and instuction where needed.
In the evening the centre put on a Cardio Master Class in the form of Aqua Aerobics, this 45 minute class was full and booked by a mixture of members and non-members with many trying the class for the first time.
