Kensington Leisure Centre is proudly hosting its first portrait exhibition by celebrated local artist Gill Bradley in February 2019.

‘Taking the Plunge’ is a series of paintings of women celebrating strength and natural beauty though body language and gesture. The subjects of these portraits are all leisure centre members who take part in the ‘Water Workout’ classes at the centre’s swimming pool.

The exhibition will be launched at the leisure centre on Tuesday 5th February from 7pm–9pm for residents to view free of charge. The paintings will then subsequently be on display on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 2pm-8pm until March 6th 2019.

The fantastic water colour portraits were on display in The Framers Gallery in central London last year, so the centre is very fortunate to be able to exhibit them again for this short period.

Gill Bradley is an award winning artist who has completed painting, illustration, animation, film direction and graphic design for clients such as Saachi & Saachi, BBC, Sky Arts, Scwartzkopf, Guardian and Island Records.

Kensington Leisure Centre, which was built by the Royal Borough at a cost of £30 million, was opened in March 2015 and won the 2018 UK Active ‘Centre of the Year’ award as the leading fitness facility in London.
