On Friday 22nd August the Alex Yee Ladywell Arena will be hosting a British Triathlon Run Bike Run Mini Duathlon event.

The event will consist of a 1km run, followed by a 5km cycle followed by another 1km run. This will be a fun and non-competitive event for children who have been inspired by Alex Yee and would like to try out two of the three elements of triathlon. Both disciplines will take place on the athletics track ensuring those people taking part don’t have to contend with roads or other members of the public.

For this event we will be running two waves.

  • 10am start will be for children aged 6-10
  • 11.30am start will be for children aged 10-14.

To register for this event can be done here

To take part it’s £10 per entry and the closing date to join is 11.55pm on Wednesday 20th August

Registration for this event is now open, so why not sign up today.

Participants will be required to bring their own equipment (nothing will be provided on the day). All participants are required to wear helmets when cycling around the track and all types of bikes are welcome (no e-bikes).

There is a spectator area so whoever you chose to bring along with you, will be able to cheer you along as you take part in this mini Duathlon.
