If you have been in to the centre recently, you will have noticed that we have made some changes to our gym floor!

We have expanded, improved and rearranged our functional area.  By doing this we have given the gym a fresh feel, as well as giving our members even more room to get the very best from your workouts! If you have never been into visit us, here is some of what our functional area has to offer:

  • Pro boxing punch bags and speed ball
  • Boxing gloves and sparing pads
  • Stackable plyometric boxes
  • Kettlebells
  • Fixed barbells
  • Dumbbells
  • Gym mats
  • Weighted sand bags
  • Bosu Balls
  • Weighted slam balls
  • Skipping ropes
  • Sports agility speed sledge

What is functional fitness?

Functional fitness is a type of training that works hand in hand with everyday movements and activities, such as lifting, pulling and pushing. Functional training is also a great way to aid and improve coordination, strength, mobility and balance. The great thing about functional training is that you can ease your way in to it starting with just body weight, then over time as your training improves you can add weights making the workouts more challenging

How do I get involved?

We have 3 great classes which incorporate functional training also! Join us on:

  • Mondays from 7pm-8pm for HIIT
  • Thursdays at 6.30pm-7.30pm for HIIT
  • Sundays at 12pm-1pm for Total Body Conditioning

 

Great news, if you’re already a member, just come on in and getting going! Our staff will be in and around the gym to help and assist if you are unsure how to use anything, and more importantly for any questions you may have.
