As a charitable social enterprise, we're committed to improving our services in your local community to make them even better. That's why we're letting you know that as part of an £2.3 million pound investment into into Leytonstone Leisure Centre, Waltham Forest Council has started work to carry out a full replacement of the roof over the next year.
Work began on Monday 16th October and during this time there'll be a slight disruption to our usual services, but don't worry we're committed to keeping you moving.
What's changing?
From 29th July 2024, the gym will be back full open for members to enjoy.
Work has also now been completed in the female gym (dry-side) changing rooms and will be accessible from 5th August.
From Monday 29th July, the swimming pool changing rooms will be reduced down to only offering 6 cubicles and from 5th August, they will completely close to allow the continued roof work in this area.
During the swimming pool closure, customers are welcome to use the female and male gym (dry-side) changing rooms, or, if you prefer, you can come swim ready ahead of your dip.
We're also pleased to let you know, that the fitness class studio and a full programme of your most loved fitness classes will be returning in August.
Signage will be posted around the centre to help you locate the equipment you're looking for, as well as our friendly staff who'll also be on hand to help. We'll be sure to contact members with any important updates or news, including an expected completion date over the next few months.
