Meet the General Manager
Did you know there is a new General Manager at Leytonstone Leisure Centre? We formally introduce you to Lauren Campbell. We want to customers to know they are in safe hands. Lauren is a knowledgeable, friendly and an approachable General Manager who wants to maximise the potential of Leytonstone Leisure Centre.
This interview took place in the office which is next to the staff room with the door kept open so Lauren can interact with any member of staff or vice versa.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I have worked in sport and leisure for over 10 years and I have been with GLL since September 2019. First 2 years I worked as the Operational Manager at Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre which included overseeing a lot of bookings. Last March, I moved over to Products Manager which include the gym, reception, classes, spa and fitness classes. In July 2023, I was successful in my application to be General Manager at Leytonstone Leisure Centre.
What do you think about being a General Manager?
It’s an exciting opportunity, really looking forward to working with the team, getting to the know the customers and improving the centre.
What’s your favourite thing about the centre?

Do you have any ideas for Leytonstone yet?
Virtual Group Cycle which allows customers to access a system of on demand group cycle classes so they can get their cardio work out in whenever they are ready. It was installed on the 17th July so customers can check it out now. Also, I am planning a small revamp of soft play to just to give it a lease of life.
What are your hobbies?
I love travelling and seeing the world. I am lucky enough to have been to lots of places. I toured Australia, America, Europe and Asia. I will be heading to Singapore this Christmas.
