Peter May Sports Centre in Waltham Forest is inviting the local community to celebrate National Fitness Day 2025 with a fun-filled programme of activities designed to get everyone moving.

On Wednesday 24th September, the centre will be opening its doors to residents of all ages for free social sessions in badminton and table tennis. Whether you’re an experienced player or trying these sports for the first time, the sessions will offer a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where the focus is on having fun, meeting new people, and staying active.

National Fitness Day is the UK’s most active day of the year, inspiring millions to find new ways to enjoy physical activity and improve their health and wellbeing. With this year’s theme centred on “Your Health is for Life”, Peter May Sports Centre is proud to provide opportunities that encourage people to make movement a regular part of their routine.

“Our aim is to make sport and fitness accessible to everyone in our community,” said [Insert Manager’s Name], Centre Manager at Peter May Sports Centre. “Badminton and table tennis are great examples of activities that are easy to learn, social, and enjoyable for all ages. National Fitness Day is the perfect opportunity to give them a go.”

The sessions will run during specified times throughout the day (please check the Better UK app for available sessions). All sessions need to be booked online or via the Better UK app. Find out more, visit https://www.better.org.uk/national-fitness-day
