Manchester Squash Academy on the road!
On 5th February, twelve players from the Manchester Squash Academy travelled to Fulwood Squash Club in Sheffield for an England Squash challenger tournament. An early start with Albert, Eyad, Maebh and Mitaire on the squash courts first at 8:30am in the mixed under nine category. Competing in the tournament provided all the players with new opponents, match experience and national ranking points. Throughout the tournament, all the players competed well with some great squash played in an excellent spirit. Eyad and Lorcan reached the semi-finals, and Oliver took two good scalps against higher-ranked opposition to finish in fifth. Following the tournament, everyone is determined to keep practising and looking forward to playing more squash. Well done to all of the players. Plans are being made for a local series of squash tournaments in 2023 throughout Manchester – watch this space!
