Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym community links and Partnership working.

 

Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym, is a leisure centre operated by GLL under our Better brand in partnership with Newcastle city council.

Our company champions equal opportunities and community links in all aspects of the service.

GLL is a not for profit charitable social enterprise committed to delivering a better quality of fitness and leisure, libraries and performing arts facilities for everyone. We’re committed to providing access to quality community facilities at a price everyone can afford operating under our 'Better' brand.

We act as a charity and are here for the benefit of the communities we operate in. We are passionate about making a real difference.

As a community focused organisation we work closely with a lot of local partners and community groups to help us to connect to the local community and provide access for all to the activities available in our centre.

 

Here are some of the groups and organisations we have worked with most recently and frequently over the last 12 months:

City learning centre (Westgate College)

Westgate College is Newcastle City Learning's main venue for both courses and our staff. As well as our full course offer, we run the Access to HE Diploma programme from here. We also have a fully equipped teaching kitchen.

Soccerworld

Opened in 2008 Soccerworld Newcastle boasts seven 5-a-side pitches and two 7-a-side pitch. The centre offers a variety of leagues, coaching classes as well as regular bookings and kid’s birthday parties.

Westgate Juniors Football Club

Westgate Juniors Football Club was founded in 2006 with the support of the Hat-trick project after successfully hosting a mini world cup festival with local schools. In 2007 the club was awarded the FA Charter Standard Award and then the Charter Standard Development Club mark in 2011. 

Medics Hockey club

Newcastle Medics Hockey Club is a (field) hockey club based in Newcastle in the North of England.

There are no set standards for entry. Medics, non-medics, experienced players and newcomers to the game are all welcome. We don't take ourselves too seriously and you can commit yourself to as much or as little hockey as you like.

Newcastle Hockey Club is a family friendly, open and inclusive club based in the heart of the North East. We have over 150 senior and 130 junior members. We are based at a Jesmond Park Academy in Heaton, Newcastle-upon Tyne, where we have access to two sand-dressed astro turf pitches.

Newcastle Hockey runs 4 ladies' teams, 2 men’s teams, a Masters team and a flourishing Junior section.

There are a number of local schools who visit our centre every week.  Using the outdoor pitches and Trampoline Park for anything from P.E. lessons to special events.

As well as other children’s clubs who book sessions with us for their groups.

Dame Allan’s

Dame Allan’s was founded in 1705 to provide quality education for boys and girls in Newcastle.

We are unique in the region as the only school following the pioneering Diamond Structure of education, which combines single-sex education within a co-educational setting.

The Gateshead Cheder Primary School

The Gateshead Cheder Primary School is an Orthodox Jewish school, with a Jewish ethos, providing education for boys between the ages of three and 14.

Local Guides, Brownies and Rainbows packs

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls.

Girls can do anything. We help them know that, whether they’re 4 or 18 or in between.

We work with other local charities, social enterprises, community organisations and project teams to make sure activities at our centre are accessible to those who wouldn’t always be able access them otherwise.  This can be anything from one off sessions to school summer holiday programmes that last the full 6 weeks.

Street games

Street games believe that access to sport and its benefits are a right and not a privilege. For young people growing up in low-income, underserved communities, however, opportunities to play sport and be active are all too often either limited or non-existent. To bridge this opportunity gap, we work closely with our network members and partners to unlock the multiple benefits that physical activity can offer to children and young people living in underserved communities.

Healthworks tackles health inequalities with a diverse range of projects, activities and interventions that improve health outcomes for individuals, families and communities across the region. We work in partnership with colleagues and communities to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.

Northbourne Youth Initiative

Northbourne Youth Initiative’s aim is to offer children and young people 8-25 years a range of opportunities to further their personal experience and social development. We are a neighbourhood based project working with children and young people in and around Elswick and the West End of the city.

Far Community

FAR has been serving residents of Fenham since 1988, we operate from a purpose-built accessible community centre in the heart of Fenham in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne.  Our aim is to help people go further, providing support, direction, hope, encouragement and praise; we are here for them every step of the way. We passionately believe in what we do, responding to situations, driving change, and providing opportunities for our community to enhance their lives.

Newcastle West End Foodbank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

SPLASH

SPECIAL PLAY AND LEISURE AFTER SCHOOL HOURS

The charity's objective is to provide holistic support to children with disabilities/additional needs, and their families, within the listed area of benefit. Support and respite are offered to the parents and siblings, whilst the children with disabilities are granted various provisions which can aid and enhance their physical and emotional wellbeing and development.
