We are pleased to announce the re-opening of the Sports Hall at Haydon after the installation of new flooring as part of our drive to reinvest in the facilities at the centre.

After general wear and tear had become apparent, it was felt a new lease of life was needed to provide an excellent surface for all our users and the many activities they enjoy.

Being a multi-purpose Sports Hall, it is already used for lots of different activities including badminton, football, short mat bowls, table tennis, netball, basketball, martial arts and bouncy castle birthday parties, to name a few.

Haydon Centre & Gym continues to be the home of a variety of different activity and sports clubs, including Green Meadow Badminton Club, U3A Swindon and Step Out Swindon walking group, all utilising the Sports Hall facilities.

This includes one of a number of martial arts groups, Swindon ITF Taekwondo, who returned during re-opening and to try out the new flooring. Ian Fendt, who is owner and one of the instructors, had this to say:

'The floor is excellent, perfect in fact. We are so excited to be using Haydon again moving forward. It is the ideal surface for the vast age groups and abilities of participants we welcome each week'.

Swindon ITF Taekwondo run sessions on Monday's and Thursday's 6:45pm-9:15pm from 5 years old to experienced students.

Step Out Swindon walking group use Haydon as a base, before journeying out and about in Swindon. The group is a fantastic way to get more active and provide a social element for all participants back at the centre in the Sports Hall.

Haydon Centre & Gym certainly is a fantastic community hub for all, with so many different activities for everyone to enjoy.

You don't have to be a member to enjoy the new flooring. Whether you fancy trying a game of badminton between friends or having a go at table tennis with family, booking has never been easier:
