Gosling Sports Park is helping reduce our carbon footprint!

As part of GLL’s Sustainability Strategy Gosling Sports Park has had 363 solar panels being installed onto the roof of the building.

When operating at full capacity the panels will have the capacity to generate up to 136 kwh of power per hour on a sunny day. The panels are estimated to provide the centre with 138,909 kwh of electricity per year, helping to reduce consumption by 21%!

This supports the positive energy saving work completed last year to upgrade centre lighting. Throughout the centre we have installed PIR, LED lighting in our Sports Hall, Squash Courts, Bubble, Car Park Lights, Driving Range, Ski Slope and other internal areas.

With the current energy crisis likely to continue for the foreseeable future, and the huge pressures that this has put on community leisure facilities, investments like this will be key to providing a green and financially sustainable future for GLL and the communities we serve.
