We have had another busy month in club. Here is a roundup of what we have been getting up to in your local Better Gym.

We have added another piece of strength kit on to our gym floor. The Hip Thrust Bench is a great tool for any member whether you are trying to build up your glute muscles, build explosive power for sports or aiding you in rehabilitating injuries such as lower back problems. What makes this piece of kit so brilliant is that it has attachments to add resistance bands on for extra tension through the movement. Using the bands helps to increase the amount of power output at the top of the movement where exercise normally starts to become easier. Whether you are using weights, bands or just your body this is an exercise that everyone should be doing! If you are unsure how to use this kit or want to make sure you are getting your form perfect speak to a member of the fitness team in club who will be able to give you some pointers about how to get the best out of the equipment!

To coincide with our new equipment we have been running a month long challenge to see who can hold the glute bridge position for the longest amount of time against the resistance band. We have had some great times so far with lots of members getting over the 5 minute mark! So far member Pat is in the lead with a time of 7 minutes 2 seconds. There is still time to give it a try and claim the victory!  

The studio has been busy as ever with lots of classes going on and members working hard. We just wanted to take a moment to celebrate how hard you have been working, the energy you bring to the studio has been infectious and it shows in the smiling faces we see leaving club after a hard workout!
