New Year Refurbishment Update

Improvements are continuing at Better, Bodmin Leisure Centre. We would like to bring to your attention some areas that will be affected for a few weeks to allow the refurbishment work to continue:

Tennis Hall Lights – The indoor tennis courts are having their lights replaced which will provide better lighting throughout with better efficiencies. The work is due to start on Tuesday the 16th January and is expected to last until the 2nd of February. Throughout this time there will be limited court space and you may not be able to book your usual court or activity. We shall endeavour to keep you updated on availability as the improvements progress.

Pool changing room cubicle showers – Our 4 private shower cubicles are being refurbished from Saturday 13th January and we hope to re-open them by Thursday 18th January. Please can customers use the communal showers whilst these improvements progress.

Tennis Hall changing rooms and toilets – Work to refurbish these areas is still progressing and we aim to have completed this by the end of the month. Alternative changing and toilet facilities in the centre are available to use whilst the work continues.

Gym and Tennis customer lockers – New lockers will be installed on the 23rd January outside the tennis changing rooms. We would like to remind our customers to use alternative lockers within the building, the nearest being the squash lockers.

Updates around the building!

The new gym opening has been a huge success and people are loving the new equipment. Don't forget that until 14th December, you can join for just £1 so come along and make the most of this fantastic, festive offer!

Our reception area has now almost received it's full refresh and is looking great. We are waiting for new lighting to be installed, and once complete, will look forward to welcoming you in to a much more modern, brighter reception!

We are really excited about the addition of kiosks to reception as well - this will give members the opportunity to register their attendance using one of the kiosks, meaning that they will be able to beat the queues at reception during busy times.

The tennis area changing rooms and toilets are now being decorated and we are looking forward to the new floor being fitted. At times, we may have to ask our customers to use an alternative route to and from the tennis courts however we will ensure that signage is in place to direct you accordingly.

Our new aerobics studio and new social area is also under construction and we look forward to updating you with progress over the coming weeks.

The gym has been filled with brand new top of the range Technogym equipment and really is a modern and dynamic space to complete your gym workout.

We would love to show you around our new facility and can't wait to see you soon.

The gym refurbishment at Better, Dragon Leisure Centre is really looking great now and we are almost at the stage where we can take delivery of the brand new Technogym equipment.

The flooring is now finished and the very final stages of decoration are being completed. 

We are expecting to take delivery of our kit towards the end of Novemeber so please keep checking back for updates - we can't wait to show you the new gym very soon!

Week Four Progress!

It's only been a week but take a look at the fantastic changes in our brand new gym! 

Our construction team have now finished the ceiling and are working on getting the electrics wired in to brighten up the new area. 

We're so excited about how well the refurbishment is coming along, keep checking back for more progress updates!

Week Three Progress!

Great progress is being made in preparing the new gym area. The internal walls have now been completely removed and the dust has settled and has been cleared.

The space is looking fantastic and we all excited to watch the transformation into the new gym take shape.

Work will start this week on constructing the new suspended ceiling and the electrics for the lighting will be installed.

The new gym space is being prepared!

We are all feeling very excited here at Better, Dragon Leisure Centre - take a look at the space that is being created to house the brand new gym! 

All internal walls have now been removed and you can clearly see the expanse of the new gym area that will be developed.

Demolition materials should be cleared this week and then the area will be prepared for the fitting of new materials.

The refurbishment work has begun

We are thrilled to announce that the refurbishment work at Better, Dragon Leisure Centre has started!

The electricians are in and are making the area safe before the demolition work begins.

We are all really excited about what the next few months are going to bring so please keep checking back here as we will keep you posted with all of the updates.

Refurbishment Work is About to Begin!

We are excited to announce that refurbishment work is underway at Better, Dragon Leisure Centre.

Over the coming weeks you'll see the cafe and meeting room area transformed into a brand new modern and dynamic gym complete with top of the range Technogym equipment, aimed at motivating more people, making them more active, more often.

Additional work will see:

  • Improvements to the tennis member changing rooms
  • A new fitness studio where the existing gym is located
  • A refresh of the reception area

This will provide our customers with leisure facilities that will be a pleasure to use and will be a real asset to the community.
