Gym Workout

Thornton Heath Leisure Centre offers a range of cardio and resistance machines for an effective workout, or why not give our fitness classes a go with friends. 

Our team of Fitness Instructors are always happy to assist you with whatever help and advice you need it. From your first induction in the gym, to any refocus sessions you may wish to book in with us. 


Total inductions - 1 hour dedicated to you and you only. For all the gym users, experienced or inexperienced, our fitness instructors will create a programme based on your needs and goals.  The Thornton Heath Leisure Centre fitness team are here to help, whether its showing you how to use the gym equipment or showing you all the excercises related to what you want to achieve.

Basic inductions - 30 minute one to one sessions with a fitness instructor for experienced users that will help refresh your memory regarding the latest techniques and exercises.

Refocus session

Joining a gym is a huge step for most of us. To help ensure you stick to your routine and meet your goals, the team at Thornton Heath Leisure Centre is here to help keep you on track with a re-focus session.

Every six weeks we will offer you the opportunity to re-evaluate your progress with a Fitness Instructor and mix up your programme to keep challenging your body and stop your routine becomming stale.

The session is a good opportunity to assess what's going well, what could be improved, plus your workout preferences will all be taken into account to reinvigorate your Better Gym experience.

Junior Gym

These sessions available to children aged 11 to 15 years:

  • Monday to Friday 4pm to 6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 9.30am to 11.30am and 2.30pm-3.30pm

During School holidays, additional sessions are available.

Junior gym members do not have to be accompanied by an adult, but they must complete a full induction before using the gym. 

The induction includes a one to one session with a Fitness Instructor, who will take you through the use of our gym equipment, help you set personal goals and show you the latest exercise techniques based on your fitness level.
