If you have been coming to the gym over the last few weeks you may have noticed our instructors have been busy roaming the floors challenging customers to some fitness challenges. From Press ups to burpees we have introduced a range of challenges.

These have been a great part of our fitness offering recently as Etim and Nicole will both know, having topped the table in our initial challenge, both received a goody bag of Better gym accessories to compliment there training endeavours. The goody bag includes a sweat towel, a shaker bottle and drawstring bag to keep you prepared for the training sessions ahead.

So what can you expect from these challenges?

Each challenge we aim to be slightly different from the last. We began with Wall sit with a plate hold, an isometric exercise great for building muscular stamina and challenging the mind to endure when the training gets tough.

Our second challenge saw our customers push their boundaries, literally. Customers competed to complete the most number of push ups in 1 minute (time seemingly slowing down the closer to the 60 second mark you get). One customer managed an astonishing 91 push ups to claim their spot as the push up king.

Challenge three sees a slightly different approach to fitness focusing on metabolic conditioning by incorporating  the dreaded Burpee. Utilizing a huge amount of muscle groups and getting the heart racing, this move shreds body fat and builds muscle tone whilst forcing the core to stay strong and engaged.

Think you have what it takes to top the table? Want a chance to push yourself to the limit or measure your progress as you get fitter?
