In these days most of us who want to get fitter, stronger, or become a BETTER version of ourselves know that in order to achieve our goals we must participate in some type of exercise program. One of the problems is that of choosing what sort of fitness equipment we should be using. There are a number of choices in our centre, including the new functional zone on the top floor.

There is a huge choice of exercises you can use, where your body is the only piece of equipment you will need. Depending on the method of training you use, just 15 minutes a day will give you fitness levels far beyond what you have at the moment. Pick a set of exercises that hit different body parts and make a circuit out of them. Circuit training will improve your strength, fitness, and endurance.

So what is some of this new equipment we have introduced to Highgrove Pool and Fitness Centre?

TRX:
Studies have shown TRX training to be an effective way to build muscle, strength, improve stability, and cardiovascular health. It really comes down to exercise preference and what keeps you coming back for more workouts.

Sledge:
The sled push is a great beginner exercise to build leg strength, muscle mass, and work capacity and it is so much fun.

Punching bags:
If you are interested in boxing, MMA or other martial arts, this is your equipment this is your time. When you hit a punching bag, it requires a lot of physical exertion and tests your strength and stamina. For most people, this form of full-body engagement helps burn calories while strengthening core muscle groups.

We encourage customers to participate on the new group inductions where you can get a better view and knowledge on the equipment. These inductions and small classes will be delivered by our fitness instructors on duty.
