Summer Open Weekend
We are delighted to announce that we are running an open weekend on 19th & 20th July. Whether you're a first-time visitor or someone who has been curious about joining our community, we're thrilled to show you what we have to offer. Take part in a range of fun and free activities across our centres in Islington.

How do I book?
To book our open day activities please visit the Open Weekend Tab for your chosen centre and select the date you would like to attend.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for all classes and sports hall activities; equipment is provided. Please make sure you bring a towel and water with you.
What if I have a health condition?
Please make sure you let the members of staff know about any health conditions prior to activity.
What if I have never been before?
If you're new to any of the activities or unsure about using certain equipment, feel free to ask one of our staff members. We’re here to guide you. If you’re using the gym or taking part in any physical activities today, please ensure you’ve warmed up first. If you need guidance, our fitness instructors are here to help.
Do I have to be a member?
No, our open day sessions are open to everyone. Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the app or online at https://bookings.better.org.uk/register, then simply booking an available open day activity. As part of the registration process, customers must agree to the activity terms and conditions, which include a signed waiver granting access into the centre.
What should I expect from activity?
Adult & Junior Gym Taster Session
Description: Kickstart yours and your child’s fitness journey with a free trial of the gym. Staff will be on hand to demonstrate machines and advise on the best ways to achieve your fitness goals.
Active Play
Description: Active Play is the perfect solution for hassle-free fun for children aged 10 and under. With features including a go-kart area, climbable mangrove tree, playhouse games room, rope bridge and sensory area, this simply is the place to let your children enter a new world of fun.
Social Pickleball Club
Description: Try our social pickleball sessions, a fun way to stay active and meet new people. With its easy-to-learn rules and sociable pace, pickleball is perfect for all ages and abilities. Come along and discover why it’s one of the fastest-growing sports around. Equipment will be provided, 16+ Years.
Social Badminton Club - Adults
Description: Our Adult social badminton sessions are a great way to have fun and stay healthy whilst making new friends. Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or just looking for a casual hit, social badminton is the perfect way to stay active and connected. Equipment will be provided, 16+ Years.
Open Day Tennis – Juniors
Description: Whether you’re aiming to be the next Wimbledon champion, or just want to learn a new sport, our open day will provide the perfect opportunity for juniors to take part in our free tennis session linked to the Barclays Big Tennis Weekend. General sportswear is required.
Gym Taster Session

Swim School & Water Safety Taster Session
Description: Dive into safety and confidence— Join us for your child's initial assessment in joining our Swim School and get an introduction to water safety ahead of summer for free! Suitable for 5-11 year olds.
Open Day Strength and Conditioning Class
Description: Build muscle and feel better with our Strength and Conditioning classes. Experience Circuit Training that’ll help you strengthen and condition your whole body.
Open Day Dance Fitness Class
Description: Get fit and feel great with our selection of Dance classes. These group exercise classes are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and help you stay active.
Swim for All
Description: No matter your fitness ability, our Swim for All sessions are perfect if you're looking to build your confidence, work on your strokes, float away any stress, or just simply want to enjoy a more casual swim with your family and friends.
