Free Junior Gym Classes at Better Gym EV

Better Gym East Village are proud to announce our new junior fitness classes. These classes are for 11-17-year olds and is aimed to teach our young people the fundamental exercises. It will be a Junior Strength & Conditioning class held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-5pm.

Myth buster: kids can lift weights safely! And no, it won’t stunt their growth!

They will benefit from:

The sessions are carefully planned and delivered by our experienced trainer, Sean Condon, who has worked in a professional training environment with youth athletes ages 9-17 years and has recently been DBS checked by Better Gym.

These classes are Free with a valid Junior Gym membership and is available to book on the UK Better App with limited spaces.

Junior gym offers kids many benefits, but there are important caveats to keep in mind. Here's what you need to know about junior gym. 

Training is even a good idea for kids who simply want to look and feel better. In fact, training might put your child on a lifetime path to better health and fitness. 

It’s important to not confuse strength training with weightlifting, bodybuilding or powerlifting. Trying to build big muscles can put too much strain on young muscles, tendons and areas of cartilage that haven't yet turned to bone (growth plates) — especially when proper technique is sacrificed in favour of lifting larger amounts of weight.

For kids, light resistance and controlled movements are best — with a special emphasis on proper technique and safety. Your child can do many strength training exercises with his or her own body weight or inexpensive resistance band.

 

Adult and Junior Gym:

Did you know we now have Aldult and Junior gym sessions? You can now book a Gym session with your child. Working out as a family is not only a great was to stay active but also to spend some valuable time together.
