Improving Our Services - Gym Refurbishment
Improving Our Services
As a charitable social enterprise, we're always trying to improve what we offer in your local community. That's why we’re excited to announce that we're investing even more into Dorking Sports Centre from Monday 1st September.
What's changing?
With this new investment, we'll expand your gym, giving you more space to train and utilise the brand new TechnoGym equipment that'll also be installed - helping you better work towards your health and fitness goals.
The Gym will be extended into our current changing rooms, which will expand the gym by a third, allowing us to provide a dedicated weights area and add 30 more pieces of equipment.
The Gym and Changing Facilities
Works will begin in the gym changing rooms from Monday 1st September, and so the gym changing rooms will become unavailable to members. Don't worry, you'll still be able to change using our ground floor changing rooms and shower facilities. Lockers are available outside the studio and in the sports hall corridor.
Please note: During September, the gym will be open as usual, you will need to access the gym via the back staircase. The lift will be available upon request - please enquire at reception.
Temporary disruption from November
Works inside your current gym will begin from November, which will mean there'll be temporary disruption with access to some equipment in the gym.
From December, the gym will be temporarily unavailable to all members for a few weeks whilst we complete the main upgrades. You’ll receive communications closer to the time to remind you of any upcoming disruption.
Keeping you moving
To ensure you can continue your fitness routine while the gym and changing rooms are refurbished, Better Health members will receive temporary access to nearby leisure centres from Monday 1st September. Please note that this does not apply to Better Swim members. So you have access to the following leisure centres: Leatherhead Leisure Centre, Tadworth Leisure and Community Centre, Donyngs Leisure centre and Horley Leisure centre.
As well as upgrading your access to centres, from December, we're also offering a smaller alternative gym in our studio with a few pieces of cardio equipment. Studio classes may have some effect; updates will be provided closer to the time.
When will the new gym reopen?
Your brand-new gym is scheduled to re-open from January 2026.
