This year, GLL – the charitable social enterprise behind Better Leisure Centres and Libraries - marks its 30th Anniversary.

Over 30 years we've grown from a small leisure trust operating eight centres in Greenwich to the UK's largest leisure and cultural trust with 350 facilities - including the iconic London Aquatics Centre, Copper Box Arena, Lee Valley White Water Centre and Lee Valley VeloPark.

(And our very own centres in Newcastle; Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym, East End Pool, Eldon Bowling & Soft Play, Gosforth leisure Centre and West Denton Leisure Centre).

With 50 million visits each year, we are fulfilling our remit to get more people more active.

To celebrate and say 'Thank you' to our customers, we are holding a number of free activities during a National Open Day Weekend 22/23 July.

We invite everyone to join our staff for summer holiday fun.  Across the country you can choose from group exercise classes, challenges, 90s themed pool parties, arts and crafts and cake competitions.

At Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym we’re celebrating with the following themed activities:

  • Gym open day weekend

Join us for our Open Day where we will be offering taster sessions for you to try the gym for free.

  • Circuit at 30! – large outdoor circuit class for adults of all ages

A free circuit class taking place on the all-weather pitch outside.  Especially for the birthday weekend.

  • Scavenger Hunt

Every Trampoline Park session over the weekend will have a scavenger hunt, with prizes to be won for the first to find the Birthday Cake hidden in the park.

  • 90’s music played throughout the centre all weekend.

We’ll have hits from 30years ago playing right throughout the weekend and all our Group Exercise classes with have playlists from 1993.

  • Hamper Prize draw to be drawn

Raffle tickets available for a hamper prize draw, proceeds going to Alzheimer’s UK
