GLL Sports Foundation Awards Evening - 30th July 2025

On Wednesday night at Botwell Green Sports and Leisure Centre, we came together to celebrate the GLL Sport Foundation 2025 Awardees from Hillingdon.

We were privileged to have the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Phillip Corthorne, alongside Colin Coughtrey, GLL's National Engagement Manager, presenting the awards to each athlete, plus a special goody bag.

Colin Coughtrey, GLL's National Engagement Manager said that "It was an inspiring evening and seeing the level of athletes in Hillingdon is fantastic. We are so proud of them and the work that the GLL Sport Foundation do. The night was a true reflection of the community spirit in Hillingdon."

The evening was truly inspiring, filled with stories of perseverance and a collective dedication to excellence. Each athlete reminded us that success is not solely defined by victories but also by the journey taken to achieve them.

Andy Gilbert, Area Community Sports Manager also added that "there was such an array of sports represented at the awards - 16 sports in total which is amazing to see."

Mariam Ayeni, Wheelchair Tennis player and GSF athlete said that "it was really refreshing to see the community come together to celebrate and I am looking forward to seeing the future success of all the athletes in Hillingdon."

The event was a roaring success. A huge shoutout to everyone involved who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen!
