Sutton Gymnastics Academy - Competition Success!

On Sunday 3rd July gymnasts from Sutton Gymnastics Academy (SGA) attended the J'Amies Gymnastics Championships at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford.

With around 1000 gymnasts from around the country competing across multiple age groups and disciplines the competition was fierce. However over 100 junior gymnasts from the SGA programme went to the competition and performed exceptionally well:

- 18 Gold medals

- 14 Silver medals

- 14 Bronze medals

- 14 Fourth places 

- 12 Fifth places

- 7 Sixth places

- 30 Trophies for highest scores on floor and vault

It was fantastic to see so many gymnasts across all groups perform so well under the pressure of a competition environment. Well done to all the gymnasts who entered, and a special thank you to all the coaches who helped them achieve such great success, and who gave up their time to attend and support.

We offer both ongoing courses, ranging from beginner up to academy/squad level, and drop in sessions. For ongoing courses pupils sign up for a gymnastics membership, paid by monthly direct debit, and attend the same session/s every week. Our programme runs for 48 weeks of the year and our highly trained, qualified coaches assess pupils on an ongoing basis. When gymnasts have passed the stage criteria and are ready to move up to the next level we will contact parents to discuss moving them into the next class up with available space. Please note that demand for classes is very high for ongoing courses and we have waiting lists in place for most classes. Drop in sessions are available for children from walking age to 4 years, as well as for adults and those with special educational needs and can be booked online or via our Better UK app.
