Is Pilates similar to Yoga?

Whilst Yoga and Pilates are similar, as they both help to improve your overall strength, flexibility and mobility while having a positive impact on your mental health, too.

A subtle difference is that Pilates classes emphasise controlled movements and is more focused on strengthening the core and other muscle groups, while Yoga is centred more around balance and the flow of each movement.

Incorporating one or both of these exercises into your fitness routine can help boost your mental and physical health.

How many times a week should I take a Pilates class

Taking between 2-3 Pilates classes per week is recommended if you want to achieve consistency with your results. However, if you’re new to Pilates, you may want to start out with one Pilates beginner class each week to build up your strength and confidence first.
