Activity Morning - Long-Term Health Conditions
Monthly Physical Activity Days & Support Service Provider Market Place Bodmin & St Austell Leisure Centres.
We have over the last 6 months, working with Diabetes UK, Local Surgeries and their diabetic nurses, to encourage those living with diabetes, type 2 in particiular, to exercise more.
We offered across 3 centres Bodmin, Liskeard and St Austell, opportunities to taster some of the suitable activities programmed at the centres. These were met with enthusiasm by patients referred to the activities.
We are now expanding these activity days to other long-term conditions such as Arthrisis; Multiple Scleoris and Parkinson's.
Exercise offers significant benefits for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease, Diabetes and arthritis.
- For MS, it can improve fatigue, mobility, and balance.
- In Parkinson's, exercise can help manage motor symptoms, improve mood, and potentially slow disease progression.
- For Arthritis, exercise can reduce pain, increase flexibility, and improve overall physical function.
- For Diabetes, it can reduce blood pressure, improve cholesterol, and in Type 2, can put diabetes into remission.
