What is the project about? This University of Manchester project is asking women what they think about a new scanner that scans breasts to measure breast density, which is a risk factor for breast cancer. This scanner could help to find young women most at risk of breast cancer so that more women can survive breast cancer in the future.

Who can take part? Women aged 30-49 years can take part. Any woman can take part as long as she is not breast feeding, not pregnant and has not had breast cancer.

Where and when? The project is taking place in the upstairs meeting room at Moss Side Leisure Centre (M15 5NN) on Wednesday mornings, Friday mornings and Friday evenings in November 2025.

What will happen? Women will have a scan with the new device and then complete a survey about their opinions on the visit. All scans are carried out by female healthcare professionals.

Will women be paid? All women who take part will get a £12.50 shopping voucher to thank them for their time. We can also cover travel costs. How do I sign up?
